Application Process

Check Eligibility

Review the eligibility requirements to confirm you qualify before starting your application.

Submit Your Application

Complete the online application with your resume, personal statement, and proof of enrollment. Application closes November 15, 2026 at 11:59 PM PT.

Application Review

The EICOP team reviews applications and selects finalists based on eligibility, preparation, interests, experience, and alignment with available opportunities. Applicants will be notified by late November.

Apply for Internships

Finalists apply for specific opportunities with EICOP partner companies. Host companies will conduct interviews and make final hiring decisions.

Eligibility Requirements

Please review the following before you apply.

  • Applicants must be enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university.
  • Students who have completed college or graduate school prior to November 30, 2026 will not be eligible.
  • All internships are paid by the host company for a 32 to 40-hour workweek.
  • Internship start dates will take place between early to mid-June. Host companies will determine the exact start date once the student intern has been identified and selected. Regardless of when the internship begins, it will end 8–10 weeks after the determined start date.
  • Non-U.S. citizens must have valid work authorization to participate. The host company handles all work authorization requirements.
  • All students selected may be subject to a background check prior to final internship placement by the host company.

Is attending an HBCU required to apply?+

No. We welcome all students who can contribute a diverse perspective to the entertainment industry.

Do I have to be a communications or theater major?+

No. EICOP is open to students from all majors. Our partner companies recruit talent for opportunities across entertainment, media, sports, music, technology, and related creative industries—including roles in business, communications, finance, law, production, technology, and more.

Am I guaranteed an internship if I apply?+

No. Admission to EICOP does not guarantee an internship. Selected finalists gain access to internship opportunities with EICOP partner companies, which make the final hiring decisions and extend internship offers.

Does EICOP place students with companies?+

No. EICOP creates pathways to career-building opportunities but does not place students directly with companies. Final selection decisions are made by the participating partner organizations.

How competitive is it?+

Very. EICOP receives thousands of applications each year from talented students across the country, making the selection process highly competitive.

Is housing provided?+

Yes — Housing is provided for all participants who receive an internship offer from one of our partner companies.

When will I hear back?+

Applicants will be notified by late November. The application closes November 15, 2026 at 11:59 PM PT.

Can I reapply if I didn't get in?+

Absolutely! As long as you meet the eligible requirements, we encourage you to apply again.
