HBCU IN MLB & MiLB EXPERIENCESHIP

Program Overview

The Entertainment Industry College Outreach Program’s HBCU IN MLB & HBCU IN MiLB Experienceship provides candidates from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) an opportunity to gain hands-on experience within the world of Major League Baseball (MLB) and Minor League Baseball (MiLB).

This one-week program, a collaboration between EICOP, MLB & MiLB, aims to introduce candidates to the business and operations side of MLB & MiLB Clubs, offering real-world exposure to different aspects of the sport and its industry.

The experienceship is open to rising sophomore undergraduate candidates (i.e., those currently in their freshman year and entering their sophomore year in Fall 2025).

Role Overview

Selected candidates will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of Major League Baseball and Minor League Baseball, develop critical career skills, and engage in mentorship opportunities with industry professionals.

Required Education

Enrolled in an undergraduate program and entering Sophomore year in the academic year following the internship. This mean you must have completed between 30 – 59 college credit hours.

*Please note that candidates will be placed in any of the following locations: Atlanta, GA; Boston, MA; Denver, CO; Houston, TX; San Francisco, CA; Milwaukee, WI; and Secaucus, NJ. More cities may be added to this list.​

The Application Process

Before you get started, make sure you have all the necessary elements:

  • Resume – ONE PAGE. Resumes that are longer than one page will be disqualified.

  • Your Essay Question – 250 Words Maximum – What excites you the most about an HBCU IN MLB/MiLB Experienceship, and how do you see this opportunity aligning with your career goals?
  • All documents must be in PDF format.

  • Fill out all sections to complete your application.

  • Be sure to review all guidelines and rules before completing your application.

  • Make sure you provide all the information before the application period closes on March 14, 2025, at 11:59 PM (PST).  Applications that haven’t been completed by that date will be disregarded.

What you need to know before applying:

    • Applicants must be enrolled full-time at an accredited college.
    • Students must have completed between 30-59 hours of college credit as of June 1, 2025
    • Experienceships will start early to mid-June. Host clubs will determine the exact start date, and students will be notified in advance of acceptance.
    • Interested students will need to apply using the link below.
    • Applications will close at 11:59 PM PT on March 14, 2025.
    • The Selection Team will be reaching out to qualified candidates to complete a video interview.
    • Finalists will be notified by April 25, 2025
